The basic CQB course assumes you enter a building through doors that open. At CQB Advanced you will learn to move as a team behind a ballistic shield and make your own way in when it's locked: breach the door with a ram, pry it open with a pry bar or shoot out the lock or hinges with a shotgun, or break and rake a window and go in through it. When one team goes through the door while another goes in through a window at the same time, you take the apartment much faster.
CQB Advanced is a two-day advanced course in fighting in buildings that builds on the basic CQB course. After a short review, you will learn to enter a building through a window, with or without a ladder, move behind a ballistic shield and breach doors with a ram, a pry bar or a shotgun. Then come the use of a flashbang, coordinating multiple teams moving together and the recommended procedure for apprehending a suspect.
You will practice everything you learn right away in scenarios with FX Simunition weapons. It is a force-on-force system with marking ammunition, so you find out what it's like when a live person is standing against you instead of a paper target. Training weapons and ammunition are included in the course fee. You don't have to buy any tactical gear, you can train in what you normally wear.
We never have more than 8 students per instructor, so everyone gets real attention and we correct mistakes carefully.

For graduates of the CQB course who have mastered the basic building procedures and want to add more demanding entries and multi-team work. It suits members of the armed forces and law enforcement as well as civilians who train in buildings on a regular basis.
After two days you can enter a building through a window, with or without a ladder, including breaking and raking the glass. You know how to move behind a ballistic shield and how a team works with it. You can breach a door mechanically with a ram or a pry bar and ballistically with a shotgun, and use a flashbang. You know how to coordinate multiple teams moving together, and you know the recommended procedure for apprehending a suspect. And you have tested everything in scenarios against a live opponent.
Quick review of the basic CQB course, followed by topics such as alternative building entry through windows with and without ladders (break and rake), tactical procedures with a ballistic shield, mechanical breaching with a ram and a pry bar and ballistic breaching with a shotgun, use of flashbangs, multi-team coordination and the recommended procedure for apprehending a suspect. You will test all of this in scenarios using our FX Simunition training weapons.
Comfortable civilian or tactical clothing and solid outdoor or sports shoes (both suited to the current weather and outdoor temperatures), a belt and, if you have your own, a high-quality and safe hard holster for a Glock 17 Gen4/5 worn on the strong side and covering the trigger guard (preferably kydex) and spare magazine pouches, or a plate carrier or any full ballistic protection including a helmet, AR15 magazine pouches, shooting glasses, hearing protection (earmuffs, earplugs, etc.), knee pads, tactical gloves and a flashlight.
Above all, come to the course in clothing and gear that match your everyday carry or work as closely as possible, without having to buy any tactical gear. It is not required on this course.
If you would like to try modern ballistic gear, click on your chosen course date and you can rent one of the plate carriers on offer, including ballistic plates, or a top-of-the-line Galvion ballistic helmet.
We will provide you free of charge with our FX Simunition force-on-force training weapons: Glock 17 Gen4 or Gen5 pistols, AR15 or H&K 416 semi-automatic rifles and H&K MP5 or MP7 submachine guns. Long guns come with a sling and a magazine, pistols with a kydex belt holster.
You can bring your own AR15 or H&K MP5, and we will lend you just the FX conversion kit for it. That way you can train with the weapon you are used to (please let us know about this in advance by email). FX Simunition ammunition is included in the course fee.
Czech law does not regulate participation in tactical courses in any way. You don't need a firearms license or any other permit, and it doesn't matter whether you are a citizen of the Czech Republic, another EU country or a country outside the EU. Czech law sets no fixed minimum age, but a minor participant must be reasonably mature, both mentally and physically. We do not recommend registering children under 15 for a course this intensive.
Class starts at 9:00 am. Please arrive at the training site no later than 8:30–8:45 am. The course usually ends around 6:00 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break during the day.
We run our courses at various locations across the Czech Republic. You will find the exact venue for each date in the calendar, just click on the date. For multi-day courses that use more than one location, all venues are listed there.
Please check the venue carefully before booking. The same course often runs at different locations on different dates. Every now and then a student books a date expecting it to be at our home base, the Oleško shooting range, only to find out on the day that the course is taking place in Moravia, some 300 km away. To avoid this, always click on the date before booking and check where that particular date takes place.
Czech with English translation available.
Accommodation is not included in the course fee, each participant arranges and pays for it themselves. There is a 30-minute lunch break, so bring food that doesn't need cooking or ordering, such as an Adventure Menu type ration, an MRE or food from home, and enough to drink for the whole day.
The best way to test what you've learned is CQB Scenarios, a course built entirely around scenarios with role players. If you want to master building procedures with a live weapon, continue with CQB Live Fire, where you work through hallway movement, slicing the pie on doorways, room entries in pairs and as a team and a complete complex of rooms with live weapons (it also requires Dynamic Pistol 1 to 3 and Dynamic Rifle 1 and 2). Together with CQB, Dynamic Pistol 1 and Dynamic Rifle 1, both courses are prerequisites for CQB NIGHT, where you clear a building in the dark with a flashlight, weapon-mounted and shield-mounted lights and night vision. And if you want to combine all building procedures into one week, add vehicle interventions and finish with live fire in a kill house, sign up for the seven-day CQB Week.
You will find answers to the most common questions in our Questions and Answers section. Didn't find what you were looking for? Write or call us using any of our contacts, we will be happy to help.
Before you come to CQB Advanced, we recommend watching the free CQB Basic video course on our YouTube channel, which has over 115,000 views. It will refresh the basic CQB procedures that CQB Advanced builds on directly, so on site you can focus fully on the new topics. Please note that the video is in Czech.
