Course Description:

Air Assault Advanced is an advanced two-day tactical course focused on the insertion of a combat team from a light transport helicopter Eurocopter EC135 over water using the fast-rope technique onto the deck of a moving tactical boat. The course builds upon the basic Air Assault training and develops the skills required for safe team insertion onto a moving vessel, precise coordination with the boat crew, and effective management of emergency situations during over-water operations. The course is intended for swimmers only!

Contents:

DAY 1: Basic theory on the use of helicopters for personnel insertion over water, principles of safe movement inside and around the helicopter during over-water operations, familiarization with procedures and hand signals for communication with the helicopter crew and boat crew, and safety measures when operating on the deck of a boat, including procedures in case of a fall into the water or loss of contact with the rope. The practical training includes a review and practice of fast-rope descent from a training platform simulating a helicopter deck, team movement organization, and coordination with the boat during simulated insertions.

DAY 2: Review of safety procedures on board the helicopter and the boat, drills for handling emergency situations during insertion, practical training of fast-rope insertion onto a moving tactical boat from a hovering helicopter over water, and tactical scenario exercises following the team’s insertion onto the deck.

Recommended equipment:

Comfortable tactical clothing or combat uniform and solid outdoor or military shoes (both adapted to the current weather and outdoor temperatures), belt, safety goggles, knee pads, body armor or plate carrier with pouches for magazines, helmet, rappelling harness, fast rope gloves or together heavy duty working and tactical gloves. If you do not have anything from mentioned gear, bring just only the clothing or duty gear based on your civilian or Law Enforcement/Military daily usage. No need to buy expensive tactical gear just for course purposes. This is not compulsory on this course. All participants will be equipped with a professional self-inflating life jacket provided by the organizer and will be secured by a professional rescue team on a safety boat operating in close formation behind the helicopter.

Weapon:

Airsoft weapon or any dummy rifle. For small fee there will be training wepons with the basic one point slings available for all the participants If needed.

Timing:

Meeting at 08:30 – 08:45 am at the car park of the location, the subsequent administration and preparation of equipment and materials. The beginning of class is at 09:00 and the end around 18:00.

Accommodation:

Accommodation is not included in the course fee, each participant provides and pays for it himself. There will be a 30 min lunchtime meal time. We recommend you bring food ration for the outdoors and enough drink for the day.
