We don't teach what looks good in photos, we teach what actually works inside a building. At CQB you will learn the basic procedures for moving down a hallway, opening doors and entering a room, whether you're on your own or part of a team.
CQB (Close Quarters Battle, fighting in buildings and confined spaces) is a two-day tactical course. You will learn apartment and room entries, a door opening system, slicing the pie on a room and how to react to an unknown person inside a building, as an individual, in pairs, in teams of four and in a large team. We put the emphasis on safety, communication, spatial awareness and making the right decisions in situations where you can't see what's behind the next door.
You will practice everything you learn right away in scenarios with FX Simunition weapons. It is a force-on-force system with marking ammunition, so you find out what it's like when a live person is standing against you instead of a paper target. Training weapons and ammunition are included in the course fee. You don't have to buy any tactical gear, you can train in what you normally wear.
We never have more than 8 students per instructor, so everyone gets real attention and we correct mistakes carefully. Over 800 students have completed this course.

For anyone who wants to know how to move safely through a building with a weapon, whether for home defense, work or duty. CQB is the entry course of our entire building training series and is required for follow-up courses such as CQB Advanced, CQB Scenarios, FIBUA or One Man CQB.
After two days you can safely move down a hallway, open doors and enter an apartment and a room, whether you're on your own, in a pair, in a team of four or in a large team. You can slice the pie on a room, meaning you clear it step by step before you even enter. You know how to react when you run into an unknown person inside a building. And you have tested everything in scenarios against a live opponent. You take turns playing the suspect, so you also get to see the other side: where to hide, which spots are the most dangerous for the entry team and where a suspect can shoot at them from. Seeing it from the suspect's point of view is the best way to tell whether the team did it right.
Basic theory, slicing the pie on a room, apartment and room entries, hallway movement, door opening system, reacting to an unknown person. All topics practiced in scenarios using FX Simunition weapons.
Comfortable civilian or tactical clothing and solid outdoor or sports shoes (both suited to the current weather and outdoor temperatures), a belt and, if you have your own, a high-quality and safe hard holster for a Glock 17 Gen4/5 worn on the strong side and covering the trigger guard (preferably kydex) and spare magazine pouches, or a plate carrier or any full ballistic protection including a helmet, AR15 magazine pouches, shooting glasses, knee pads, tactical gloves and a flashlight.
Above all, come to the course in clothing and gear that match your everyday carry or work as closely as possible, without having to buy any tactical gear. It is not required on this course.
If you would like to try modern ballistic gear, click on your chosen course date and you can rent one of the plate carriers on offer, including ballistic plates, or a top-of-the-line Galvion ballistic helmet.
We will provide you free of charge with our FX Simunition force-on-force training weapons: Glock 17 Gen4 or Gen5 pistols, AR15 or H&K 416 semi-automatic rifles and H&K MP5 or MP7 submachine guns. Long guns come with a sling and a magazine, pistols with a kydex belt holster.
You can bring your own AR15 or H&K MP5, and we will lend you just the FX conversion kit for it. That way you can train with the weapon you are used to (please let us know about this in advance by email). FX Simunition ammunition is included in the course fee.
Czech law does not regulate participation in tactical courses in any way. You don't need a firearms license or any other permit, and it doesn't matter whether you are a citizen of the Czech Republic, another EU country or a country outside the EU. Czech law sets no fixed minimum age, but a minor participant must be reasonably mature, both mentally and physically. We do not recommend registering children under 15 for a course this intensive.
Class starts at 9:00 am. Please arrive at the training site no later than 8:30–8:45 am. The course usually ends around 6:00 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break during the day.
We run our courses at various locations across the Czech Republic. You will find the exact venue for each date in the calendar, just click on the date. For multi-day courses that use more than one location, all venues are listed there.
Please check the venue carefully before booking. The same course often runs at different locations on different dates. Every now and then a student books a date expecting it to be at our home base, the Oleško shooting range, only to find out on the day that the course is taking place in Moravia, some 300 km away. To avoid this, always click on the date before booking and check where that particular date takes place.
Czech with English translation available.
Accommodation is not included in the course fee, each participant arranges and pays for it themselves. There is a 30-minute lunch break, so bring food that doesn't need cooking or ordering, such as an Adventure Menu type ration, an MRE or food from home, and enough to drink for the whole day.
Most students continue after CQB with FIBUA. If you want to develop your building procedures further, you can choose CQB Advanced and CQB Scenarios. If you want to spend a whole day on situations where you search a building on your own, without a partner, go for One Man CQB Pistol or One Man CQB Rifle.
You will find answers to the most common questions in our Questions and Answers section. Didn't find what you were looking for? Write or call us using any of our contacts, we will be happy to help.
On our YouTube channel you can watch the free CQB Basic video course, which has over 115,000 views. You will see our instructors at work and the procedures you will learn at the course, and after the course the video will serve as a handy cheat sheet for review. Please note that the video is in Czech.
