Course Description:

You don't always have a partner next to you to cover the other side of the hallway. When you're on duty alone and have to clear a building, you can only rely on yourself. One Man CQB Pistol is a course for exactly these situations, for police officers, security officers and close protection operators.

One Man CQB Pistol is a one-day course in solo tactical procedures with a handgun in buildings and confined spaces (CQB, Close Quarters Battle, fighting in buildings). After the basic theory, you will work on hallway movement, slicing the pie on a room, apartment and room entries, handling situations inside an apartment and reacting to an unknown person. We put the emphasis on safety, decision-making with limited information and using the space correctly, because nobody else is going to check that corner for you.

You train with Glock 17 pistols for the FX Simunition system, force-on-force training with marking ammunition. The weapon and a kydex holster are provided free of charge and the ammunition is included in the course fee. You don't need any tactical gear; it's best to train in what you normally wear.

We never have more than 8 students per instructor, so everyone gets real attention and we see every one of your room entries.

Over 400 students have completed this course.

Who Is This Course For:

For police officers, security officers, close protection operators and any civilians who may find themselves in a situation where they have to clear a building alone with a weapon. The course has no required prerequisites. However, if you are just getting to know the pistol, we recommend starting with Dynamic Pistol 1, where you will gain confidence in safe weapon handling.

What You Will Learn:

After the course you know how to safely move down a hallway on your own and how to slice the pie on a room, meaning clear it step by step before you enter. You can enter an apartment and a room and handle a situation inside an apartment. And you know how to react when you run into an unknown person inside a building. You will try everything with an FX Simunition training pistol.

Tactical Courses and the Law:

Czech law does not regulate participation in tactical courses in any way. You don't need a firearms license or any other permit, and it doesn't matter whether you are a citizen of the Czech Republic, another EU country or a country outside the EU. Czech law sets no fixed minimum age, but a minor participant must be reasonably mature, both mentally and physically. We do not recommend registering children under 15 for a course this intensive.

Timing:

Class starts at 9:00 am. Please arrive at the training site no later than 8:30–8:45 am. The course usually ends around 6:00 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break during the day.

Venue:

We run our courses at various locations across the Czech Republic. You will find the exact venue for each date in the calendar, just click on the date. For multi-day courses that use more than one location, all venues are listed there.

Please check the venue carefully before booking. The same course often runs at different locations on different dates. Every now and then a student books a date expecting it to be at our home base, the Oleško shooting range, only to find out on the day that the course is taking place in Moravia, some 300 km away. To avoid this, always click on the date before booking and check where that particular date takes place.

Language:

Czech with English translation available.

Accommodation and Food:

Accommodation is not included in the course fee, each participant arranges and pays for it themselves. There is a 30-minute lunch break, so bring food that doesn't need cooking or ordering, such as an Adventure Menu type ration, an MRE or food from home, and enough to drink for the whole day.

Where to Go Next:

The direct follow-up is One Man CQB Scenarios, where after a brisk review you apply what you've learned in a series of realistic scenarios with FX Simunition weapons. If you want to master the same procedures with a rifle or submachine gun, go for One Man CQB Rifle. For home defense there is Home Defense, which adds self-defense and necessity under Czech law, apprehending and securing an intruder and barricading your own home. The basic CQB course adds a door opening system and working in pairs, teams of four and a large team, and you practice all topics in scenarios with FX Simunition weapons.
