Course Description:

When you're on duty alone and have to clear a building with a rifle or submachine gun, you can only rely on yourself. A long gun gives you accuracy and confidence, but in a hallway and in doorways you have to handle it differently than outdoors. One Man CQB Rifle teaches this to police officers, security officers and close protection operators.

One Man CQB Rifle is a one-day course in solo tactical procedures with a long gun in buildings and confined spaces (CQB, Close Quarters Battle, fighting in buildings). You will cover basic theory, hallway movement, slicing the pie on a room, apartment and room entries, handling situations inside an apartment and reacting to an unknown person. We put the emphasis on safety, decision-making and how to work with a rifle in tight spaces so that it doesn't get in your way.

You train with AR15 or H&K 416 rifles and H&K MP5 or MP7 submachine guns for the FX Simunition system, force-on-force training with marking ammunition. The weapons are provided free of charge and the ammunition is included in the course fee. Have your own AR15 or MP5? We will lend you an FX conversion kit for it, so you can train with the weapon you are used to. Just let us know in advance.

We never have more than 8 students per instructor, so everyone gets real attention and we correct even small details in how you hold your weapon.

Who Is This Course For:

For police officers, security officers, close protection operators and any civilians who may find themselves in a situation where they have to clear a building alone with a long gun. The course has no required prerequisites. If you have no experience with a rifle, we recommend taking Dynamic Rifle 1 first.

What You Will Learn:

After the course you know how to safely move down a hallway on your own with a long gun and how to slice the pie on a room step by step before you enter. You can enter an apartment and a room and handle the situation inside. And you know how to react when you run into an unknown person inside a building.

Contents:

Basic theory, hallway movement, slicing the pie on a room, apartment and room entries, movement and handling situations inside an apartment, reacting to an unknown person.

Required Equipment:

Comfortable civilian or tactical clothing and solid outdoor or sports shoes (both suited to the current weather and outdoor temperatures), a belt, or a plate carrier or any full ballistic protection including a helmet, AR15 magazine pouches, shooting glasses, knee pads, tactical gloves and a flashlight.

Above all, come to the course in clothing and gear that match your everyday carry or work as closely as possible, without having to buy any tactical gear. It is not required on this course.

If you would like to try modern ballistic gear, click on your chosen course date and you can rent one of the plate carriers on offer, including ballistic plates, or a top-of-the-line Galvion ballistic helmet.

Weapon:

We will provide you free of charge with our FX Simunition force-on-force training weapons: AR15 or H&K 416 semi-automatic rifles and H&K MP5 or MP7 submachine guns. Long guns come with a sling and a magazine.

You can bring your own AR15 or H&K MP5, and we will lend you just the FX conversion kit for it. That way you can train with the weapon you are used to (please let us know about this in advance by email). FX Simunition ammunition is included in the course fee.

Tactical Courses and the Law:

Czech law does not regulate participation in tactical courses in any way. You don't need a firearms license or any other permit, and it doesn't matter whether you are a citizen of the Czech Republic, another EU country or a country outside the EU. Czech law sets no fixed minimum age, but a minor participant must be reasonably mature, both mentally and physically. We do not recommend registering children under 15 for a course this intensive.

Timing:

Class starts at 9:00 am. Please arrive at the training site no later than 8:30–8:45 am. The course usually ends around 6:00 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break during the day.

Venue:

We run our courses at various locations across the Czech Republic. You will find the exact venue for each date in the calendar, just click on the date. For multi-day courses that use more than one location, all venues are listed there.

Please check the venue carefully before booking. The same course often runs at different locations on different dates. Every now and then a student books a date expecting it to be at our home base, the Oleško shooting range, only to find out on the day that the course is taking place in Moravia, some 300 km away. To avoid this, always click on the date before booking and check where that particular date takes place.

Language:

Czech with English translation available.

Accommodation and Food:

Accommodation is not included in the course fee, each participant arranges and pays for it themselves. There is a 30-minute lunch break, so bring food that doesn't need cooking or ordering, such as an Adventure Menu type ration, an MRE or food from home, and enough to drink for the whole day.

Where to Go Next:

The direct follow-up is One Man CQB Scenarios, where after a brisk review you apply the procedures in a series of realistic scenarios with FX Simunition weapons. If you want to be able to do the same with a pistol, go for One Man CQB Pistol. The basic CQB course adds a door opening system and working in pairs, teams of four and a large team, and you practice all topics in scenarios.
