Course Description:

The Expandable Baton course focuses on the fundamentals of safe and effective use of a telescopic baton in a self-defense context. The training emphasizes civilian and protective application rather than traditional law enforcement control tactics. Participants learn distance management, body mechanics, defensive positioning, and practical use of the baton as a tool for protection, disengagement, and personal safety. Emphasis is placed on simple, legally defensible, and stress-resistant techniques suitable for real-world situations.

Contents:

Types of expandable batons and carry options, safe deployment and ready position, stance and grip fundamentals, footwork and balance control, basic striking techniques and target zones, defensive blocks and covers, distance management principles, close-range engagement strategies, defense against weapon grab attempts, retention and anti-disarm techniques, scenario-based training focused on defensive application.

Recommended equipment:

Your own telescopic baton (We are able to rent you the baton for some fee), sport shoes with pale sole, gloves to protect palms from blisters, trouser you can carry baton on, safety goggles.

Timing:

Meeting at 08:30 – 08:45 am at the training area, the subsequent administration and preparation of equipment and materials. The beginning of class is at 09:00 and the end around 18:00.
