Course Description:

The building procedures you have mastered in daylight change in the dark. At CQB NIGHT you will perform them with a flashlight in your hand, with weapon-mounted and shield-mounted lights, and with night vision and a laser.

CQB NIGHT is a four-day course in fighting in buildings in darkness and difficult light conditions. Each day has two parts. First, in the tactical facility, you work through situations as an individual, in pairs and as a team, with handheld and weapon-mounted lights, night vision and an infrared laser. You will see how this affects your movement, communication and identifying who is standing in front of you. Then you move to the range and use the same equipment with live ammunition.

The tactical part is run with FX Simunition weapons, which are included in the course fee along with their ammunition. For the live-fire part you need a pistol and a suppressed rifle, night vision and an IR laser. Whatever you don't have, you can add to your booking for your chosen date.

We never have more than 8 students per instructor, so the instructor never loses sight of you, even in the dark.

Who Is This Course For:

For experienced students who have mastered both basic and advanced CQB procedures. There is no time to teach them during the course, since all four days are devoted to working in the dark. Dynamic Pistol 1 and Dynamic Rifle 1 are required, but we recommend having completed the higher levels of the Dynamic Pistol and Dynamic Rifle series as well. The ideal preparation is CQB Week, where you go through all the building procedures that CQB NIGHT builds on.

What You Will Learn:

After four days you can move through a building as an individual, in a pair and as a team with a flashlight in your hand and with weapon-mounted and ballistic shield-mounted lights. You know how the same procedures change with night vision. You have tested live fire with a flashlight and with night vision at the range. And you have proven everything in realistic scenarios with FX Simunition weapons.

Individual, pair and team tactical procedures in buildings using a handheld tactical flashlight, weapon-mounted lights, ballistic shield-mounted lights and night vision devices. Live-fire shooting drills using flashlights and night vision. Realistic scenarios using FX Simunition weapons.

FX Simunition weapons, plenty of ammunition and role players give the training a whole new dimension and bring it very close to reality. You will then end each day with tactical procedures in darkness or reduced visibility with live weapons and ammunition in a kill house.

Required Equipment:

Comfortable civilian or tactical clothing and solid outdoor or sports shoes (both suited to the current weather and outdoor temperatures), a belt and, if you have your own, a high-quality and safe hard holster for a Glock 17 Gen4/5 worn on the strong side and covering the trigger guard (preferably kydex) and spare magazine pouches, or a plate carrier or any full ballistic protection including a helmet, AR15 magazine pouches, shooting glasses, hearing protection (earmuffs, earplugs, etc.), knee pads, tactical gloves and a flashlight. Above all, come to the course in clothing and gear that match your everyday carry or work as closely as possible, without having to buy any tactical gear. It is not required on this course.

A quality handheld tactical flashlight (ideally one with no special modes or switching, just on and off: momentary-on with a light press and release of the switch, with the option to click it on constantly), a tactical light designed to be mounted on the handguard of a long gun, and you can also bring a weapon-mounted light for your pistol. Night vision goggles (NVG) and a weapon-mounted infrared laser with windage and elevation adjustment. If you need to rent any of the required equipment, just click on your chosen course date and add the item to your booking.

If you would like to try modern ballistic gear, click on your chosen course date and you can rent one of the plate carriers on offer, including ballistic plates, or a top-of-the-line Galvion ballistic helmet.

Nylon or similar soft holsters, whether inside or outside the waistband, as well as shoulder holsters, are very dangerous for the user both in training and in real-life carry. Please avoid wearing them on the course and in real life. We can rent you high-quality kydex holsters by RH Holsters for Glock 17/19/26/43, Walther PDP/PPQ/PPS/Creed, H&K SFP9 and S&W MP9 pistols, together with a magazine pouch, for a small fee. Just click on the course date of your choice and order the holster you need in the section below the weapon selection. Appendix carry holsters, worn at the front of the waistband, are allowed provided they meet the definition of a high-quality and safe hard holster, preferably kydex, worn on the strong side and covering the trigger guard.

Weapon:

We will provide you free of charge with our FX Simunition force-on-force training weapons: Glock 17 Gen4 or Gen5 pistols, AR15 or H&K 416 semi-automatic rifles and H&K MP5 or MP7 submachine guns. Long guns come with a sling and a magazine, pistols with a kydex belt holster. You can bring your own AR15 or H&K MP5, and we will lend you just the FX conversion kit for it. That way you can train with the weapon you are used to (please let us know about this in advance by email). FX Simunition ammunition is included in the course fee.

For the live-fire part every day, or rather every evening, of the course, you will need a semi-automatic pistol with two magazines, a semi-automatic rifle with a suppressor and two magazines, and at least 400 rifle rounds and 200 pistol rounds. For subcompact pistols (for example G43/42) we recommend at least 3 magazines.

Tactical Courses and the Law:

Czech law does not regulate participation in tactical courses in any way. You don't need a firearms license or any other permit, and it doesn't matter whether you are a citizen of the Czech Republic, another EU country or a country outside the EU. Czech law sets no fixed minimum age, but a minor participant must be reasonably mature, both mentally and physically. We do not recommend registering children under 15 for a course this intensive.

Firearms and the Law:

You do not need a firearms license, background check or criminal record extract to attend this course. Our instructor will hand you the weapon and you will train with it under his constant supervision. Czech law sets no fixed minimum age, but a minor participant must be reasonably mature, both mentally and physically. We do not recommend registering children under 15 for a course this intensive.

There is no restriction on the barrel length of semi-automatic rifles, and high-capacity magazines are allowed. Suppressors and weapon-mounted lasers and lights are legal in the Czech Republic.

If you hold a European Firearms Pass (EFP) with your firearm listed in it, you may temporarily bring it to the Czech Republic and use it for training. Under Czech law it is enough to prove the purpose of your visit, for example with your course booking or another document confirming the reason for your trip. An official invitation is not required by law. The EFP also covers carrying an amount of ammunition that matches the purpose of the trip, for example for a competition or training. Please note that transit countries or your airline may apply their own limits or requirements. If you plan to travel through several countries or by air, contact us and we will help you prepare any documents you may need, such as an invitation.

Timing:

Class starts at 10:00 am on the first day. Please arrive at the training site no later than 9:30–9:45 am. On the following days the start time may change by agreement. The course usually ends around 8:30 pm. Each day is divided into a 4-hour tactical part (10:00 am – 2:00 pm) and a 4-hour shooting part (4:00 – 8:00 pm). Between 2:00 and 4:00 pm you have time to move from the tactical facility to the range and have lunch.

We run our courses at various locations across the Czech Republic. You will find the exact venue for each date in the calendar, just click on the date. For multi-day courses that use more than one location, all venues are listed there.

Please check the venue carefully before booking. The same course often runs at different locations on different dates. Every now and then a student books a date expecting it to be at our home base, the Oleško shooting range, only to find out on the day that the course is taking place in Moravia, some 300 km away. To avoid this, always click on the date before booking and check where that particular date takes place.

Language:

Czech with English translation available.

Accommodation and Food:

Accommodation is not included in the course fee, each participant arranges and pays for it themselves. Lunch fits into the break between the tactical and the shooting part, so bring food that doesn't need cooking or ordering, such as an Adventure Menu type ration, an MRE or food from home, and enough to drink for the whole day.
