Course Description:

After Dynamic Rifle 1 you can shoot accurately from a fixed position, facing the target. At Dynamic Rifle 2 you start moving: you will shoot after stepping to the side, forward or back, after relocating over a longer distance, and after dropping quickly to kneeling, squatting or prone.

Dynamic Rifle 2 is a one-day course, the second level of our rifle shooting series. We start with an initial test and a short review of DR1 to unify your weapon handling and correct whatever needs correcting. Then you will learn to engage after a short change of position, to fire and relocate over longer distances in four directions, and to shoot from dynamically taken positions. Shoulder and full stance transitions, one-handed shooting and shooting from cover come next. All with an emphasis on keeping the rifle safely under control even after moving.

You don't need a firearms license or your own rifle. Just add a complete package with the rifle, magazines, sling, ammunition and eye and ear protection to your booking. We never have more than 8 students per instructor, so everyone gets real attention and we see what happens to your technique once you start moving.

Who Is This Course For:

For graduates of Dynamic Rifle 1 who have mastered basic rifle handling and want to use the rifle in other ways than standing still. The course suits defensive, sport and duty shooting. DR1 is a prerequisite, as DR2 builds directly on its procedures.

What You Will Learn:

After the course, your fundamentals from DR1 have been checked and unified. You can engage after a change of position, whether it is a step forward, a linear step-out, a lateral step-out or a step back, and you can fire and relocate over longer distances in four directions. You can switch the rifle to the other shoulder, transition your full stance and fire one-handed. You know how to take a kneeling, squatting or prone position quickly and safely and engage from it right away, and you can shoot from cover.

Introduction of instructors, safety instructions, introduction to tactical and defensive shooting, initial test (survey and evaluation of the students' knowledge and habits, correcting mistakes and unifying weapon handling and procedures), short review of the skills from the Dynamic Rifle 1 course, followed by developing skills such as close-range step-out engagements (step forward, linear step-out, lateral step-out, step back), fire and relocate over longer distances in four directions, shoulder transitions, full stance transitions and one-handed shooting, dynamic transitions to kneeling, squatting and prone with engagement, and shooting from cover.

Required Equipment:

Comfortable civilian or tactical clothing or a duty combat uniform and solid outdoor or sports shoes (both suited to the current weather and outdoor temperatures), a belt with a spare magazine pouch, or a plate carrier or tactical vest with pouches for magazines and gear, shooting glasses and hearing protection (earmuffs, earplugs, etc.). If you intend to shoot ammunition other than the common standard .223 Rem, 7.62×39, 5.45×39 or 9 mm Luger on this course, please also bring 5 dummy rounds for dry practice and weapon handling.

Weapon:

Semi-automatic rifle or carbine (for example AR15, Sa58, AK47/74, BREN, EVO, MP5, etc.) with zeroed sights or a red dot, a sling, at least two 30-round or three 20-round magazines and at least 300 rounds.

If you do not own a gun or would like to try a different one, we can provide a rifle, ammunition and other accessories for your chosen course date. Just click on the course date and you will see a full list of weapons available for that date. In the first section you will find complete packages, which always include a rifle with two magazines, a kydex magazine pouch, a sling, eye and ear protection and the number of rounds needed for the course. If you bring your own factory ammunition, you can choose to rent the gun only. Firearms and the Law:

You do not need a firearms license, background check or criminal record extract to attend this course. Our instructor will hand you the weapon and you will train with it under his constant supervision. Czech law sets no fixed minimum age, but a minor participant must be reasonably mature, both mentally and physically. We do not recommend registering children under 15 for a course this intensive.

There is no restriction on the barrel length of semi-automatic rifles, and high-capacity magazines are allowed. Suppressors and weapon-mounted lasers and lights are legal in the Czech Republic.

If you hold a European Firearms Pass (EFP) with your firearm listed in it, you may temporarily bring it to the Czech Republic and use it for training. Under Czech law it is enough to prove the purpose of your visit, for example with your course booking or another document confirming the reason for your trip. An official invitation is not required by law. The EFP also covers carrying an amount of ammunition that matches the purpose of the trip, for example for a competition or training. Please note that transit countries or your airline may apply their own limits or requirements. If you plan to travel through several countries or by air, contact us and we will help you prepare any documents you may need, such as an invitation.

Timing:

Class starts at 9:00 am. Please arrive at the range no later than 8:30–8:45 am. The course usually ends around 6:00 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break during the day.

We run our courses at various locations across the Czech Republic. You will find the exact venue for each date in the calendar, just click on the date. For multi-day courses that use more than one location, all venues are listed there.

Please check the venue carefully before booking. The same course often runs at different locations on different dates. Every now and then a student books a date expecting it to be at our home base, the Oleško shooting range, only to find out on the day that the course is taking place in Moravia, some 300 km away. To avoid this, always click on the date before booking and check where that particular date takes place.

Language:

Czech with English translation available.

Accommodation and Food:

Accommodation is not included in the course fee, each participant arranges and pays for it themselves. There is a 30-minute lunch break, so bring food that doesn't need cooking or ordering, such as an Adventure Menu type ration, an MRE or food from home, and enough to drink for the whole day.

Where to Go Next:

After DR2, most students continue with Dynamic Rifle 3, where you learn to operate the rifle with one hand and shoot from unconventional positions behind cover. If you have also completed Dynamic Pistol 1 to 3, the VCQB course, focused on shooting and tactics around vehicles, opens up to you. And with the CQB course under your belt, you can go on to CQB Live Fire, building clearing with live weapons, or Team Work.
